Man Kam To Control Point · Two-stop clearance
Man Kam To Control Point Crossing Guide
A long-standing traditional land crossing
Man Kam To is a long-standing HK–Shenzhen land crossing, historically dominated by cross-boundary goods vehicles, that also handles passenger clearance. It sits inside Hong Kong's Frontier Closed Area in North District, crossing the Shenzhen River via the Man Kam To bridge, opposite the Wenjindu Port in Luohu, Shenzhen. Both passenger and cargo clearance run daily 07:00–22:00 under a two-stop arrangement. Below: location, hours, layout, crossing steps, real-time waiting time and charter connections.
01 — Port details
Man Kam To Control Point,a traditional freight gateway between HK and Shenzhen
Man Kam To Control Point sits inside the Frontier Closed Area of Hong Kong's North District, near Sheung Shui and Ta Kwu Ling, crossing the Shenzhen River via the Man Kam To bridge, directly opposite the Wenjindu Port in Luohu District, Shenzhen. It is a long-standing HK–Shenzhen land crossing, historically dominated by cross-boundary goods vehicles, that also handles passenger clearance. It uses a two-stop (conventional) arrangement — Hong Kong and Shenzhen immigration and customs checks are completed separately on each side, not a single co-location one-stop clearance.
Passenger clearance was suspended in early 2020 for COVID-19 and fully resumed on 6 February 2023 alongside normal HK–Mainland travel. Because the port lies inside the Frontier Closed Area and operates 07:00–22:00, its travellers are mostly on cross-boundary coaches, hire cars and freight rather than walk-up passengers, making it a quieter alternative to Lo Wu / Lok Ma Chau and well suited to door-to-door licensed cross-border charter.

02 — Layout
How to get through, understood in one flow schematic
Man Kam To uses two-stop clearance, so the key point is: Hong Kong and Shenzhen checks are completed separately on each side, with the Man Kam To bridge over the Shenzhen River in between. Travellers first clear Hong Kong formalities at the HK Man Kam To Control Point, then cross the bridge and clear Mainland formalities at Shenzhen's Wenjindu Port. The diagram below is a flow schematic (not an architectural survey drawing) to orient you before departure.
Schematic · not an official survey drawingNote: Man Kam To uses two-stop clearance; the HK Man Kam To Control Point and Shenzhen's Wenjindu Port sit on opposite banks of the Shenzhen River, linked by the Man Kam To bridge. Passenger and cargo clearance run 07:00–22:00, not 24 hours; for late nights use the 24-hour Huanggang / Lok Ma Chau crossing. The port lies inside the Frontier Closed Area, so non-cross-boundary travellers need a Closed Area Permit to enter. Layout and flow follow on-site signage and the latest notices from the HK Transport Department and Immigration Department (see sources below).

Via Man Kam To,doing the whole trip in one car
An ordinary Mainland or Hong Kong car without dual plates and the relevant permits cannot legally cross freely. Cross-boundary vehicles at Man Kam To (goods vehicles, coaches, hire cars) need a Closed Road Permit plus Guangdong PSB approval. Most people choose a licensed cross-border car with a professional driver — one car the whole way, door to door — which suits families, elders and business travellers and avoids arranging your own transfer inside the Frontier Closed Area.
Man Kam To suits daytime travel to Luohu or central Shenzhen while avoiding the Lo Wu / Lok Ma Chau crowds; it runs 07:00–22:00, so for late nights and red-eye flights use the 24-hour Huanggang / Lok Ma Chau.
